Anamaria Marinca bio
Anamaria Marina is a Romanian actor. She was awarded the British Academy Television Award of Best Actress for The Channel 4 Film Sex Traffic. She can fluently speak French, German English, as well as Romanian. Her father, a teacher of theatre in one of the top Romanian theatre schools, is theater teacher. She won the Best Female Actor Award for the Year 2000 at the Mangalia Young Actor Gala. In 2008, the European Film Promotion Board named her as a European Shooting Star in 2008. Alongside her impressive performance in her first film, she is remembered for role in the Romanian art film 4 months 3 weeks and 2 Days which won her numerous awards, such as the European Film Award for Best Actress London Film Critics. She was in 2007 the lead role in as a character in the Romanian film 4 luni 3 semaines si2 (4 months, 3 weeks, and 2 days) 4 months 3 weeks 2 days, directed produced by Cristian Mungiu (4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days). The film received two awards at Cannes Film Festival (the Cinema Prize from the French National Education System & the FIPRESCI Prize). Youth Without Youth, a Francis Ford Coppola movie, was also part of her career. In 2008, she played Yasim Anwar on the BBC Five-episode miniseries The Last Enemy. Marinca was also a part of Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven and the Romanian drama Boogie. She was Irma on Fury 2014, where she played an German known aunt for Emma.
